About The Position

The Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor is responsible for providing professional therapy/counseling, crisis management, and advocacy for patients. This individual consults with and advises medical and clinical staff on mental health and co-occurring issues of patients.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in clinical social work, psychology or related field required
  • LSW, LPC, or equivalent first level licensure required upon hire or within 1 year of hire
  • LCSW, LCPC, or equivalent full clinical licensure highly preferred. Must be attained within 2 years of hire.
  • Successful work history of direct patient counseling
  • Proficiency in data entry, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Receives Behavioral Health therapy referrals, provides individual and group therapy/counseling, maintains and records all pertinent patient information in a secure and accurate manner
  • Completes timely and accurate assessment and treatment documentation
  • Discharges patients in alignment with treatment progress
  • Collaborates with patients engaged in behavioral health and medical services
  • Manages the care of patients in collaboration with other health professionals and other treatment members, both internally and externally
  • Participates in clinical supervision and/or clinical consultation, based upon licensure
  • May be required to work across multiple sites
  • Vigilant to safety concerns and takes appropriate steps to ensure both patient and staff safety
  • Performs other duties as required
