About The Position

The Behavioral Health Counselor position at UCHealth involves providing high-quality mental health care in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team environment. Requirements

• Master's Degree in a relevant field.
• State licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPC-C), Marriage and Family Therapist Candidate (MFT-C), Social Work Candidate (SWC), or Licensed Social Worker (LSW).

• Experience in a behavioral health or mental health care setting.
• Familiarity with multidisciplinary team approaches.

Responsibilities

• Implement counseling and therapy for assigned patients in individual and group settings.
• Interview and assess patients and/or their families, caregivers, and legal representatives.
• Determine and arrange for needed internal and external services/interventions.
• Participate in case reviews and care conferences to evaluate patient progress.
• Assist with discharge planning and processes, including identifying community-based resources and providing referrals.
• Utilize appropriate teaching methods to meet patient and family educational needs.
