About The Position

The Inpatient Adult Psychiatry Staff Clinician is a Masters prepared clinician who has clinical responsibilities related to the treatment of patients on the Inpatient Adult Psychiatry service. The staff clinician provides needed psychosocial assessments, diagnoses, collaborates daily with an interdisciplinary team, formulates treatment plans, coordinates care with families and outside providers. Clinician provides case management and discharge planning services, family support, and individual (and potentially group) treatment of patients on the inpatient psychiatric unit. The person in this position also complies with all governmental and other regulatory group requirements for documentation and care standards. This exciting and fast-paced career opportunity is for a masters-level clinician to work with a dynamic interdisciplinary treatment team to provide inpatient case management services including completing psychosocial assessments, formulating interdisciplinary treatment plans, coordinating and networking care with families and outpatient providers, conducting treatment and discharge planning meetings, crisis and safety planning, arranging aftercare for patients who are in treatment for major mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders. Work may be with adult and older adult/geriatric populations. Conducting reviews with insurance companies may at times be required. Mass General Brigham Salem Hospital Epstein Center for Behavioral Health houses four inpatient psychiatric units which are 30 beds each - one pediatric/adolescent unit, two adult units and one older adult/senior psychiatry unit. The psychiatry service also includes adolescent and adult partial hospitalization programs, a substance use intensive outpatient program, a bridge clinic and three outpatient behavioral health clinics. Salem Hospital qualifies for federally funded loan forgiveness status.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate familiarity with DSM5 criteria, major mental illnesses and substance use disorders
  • Be able to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary treatment team in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Be well-organized and manage time effectively
  • Masters Degree required
