About The Position

Gundersen Health System is expanding its Integrated Care Team and is seeking a licensed master's level therapist to join as a Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) in one of our regional Primary Care Clinics located in Prairie du Chien, WI, or Decorah, IA. The BHC will play a crucial role in collaborating with the medical care team to identify and address the behavioral health and biopsychosocial well-being of our patients. This position involves assessing and diagnosing mental health concerns, providing evidence-based interventions, and consulting with medical staff to develop integrated treatment plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient. The BHC will work closely with patients to establish a model of care that reflects the supportive environment of their medical home. Our Integrated Care mission statement emphasizes delivering "the right care, in the right place, at the right time." Successful candidates for the BHC role will have experience in evidence-based mental health interventions, thrive in a dynamic daily environment, and enjoy collaborating with patients, medical staff, and other Integrated Care team members. The position offers a highly supportive team of therapists and psychologists, with regular opportunities for both formal and informal case consultation. Additionally, a mentoring program will be available during the first year of employment as a BHC, along with the development and implementation of clinic-specific Integrated Care protocols. The role is structured for 32-40 hours per week (0.8-1.0 FTE) and includes competitive salary and generous benefits, such as Continuing Medical Education time and funding, a retirement plan, and opportunities to engage in system- and community-wide mental health education and outreach. Candidates must possess a master's degree and licensure (LCSW, LICSW, MSW, LPC) and demonstrate flexibility, self-motivation, teamwork, energy, and excellent interpersonal communication skills. Furthermore, candidates must have completed an accredited program to be eligible for licensing in our multi-state region without restrictions or limitations.
