About The Position
Murdoch Developmental Center is currently accepting applications for Behavioral Health Coaches (Youth Program Education Assistant I's). Behavioral Health Coaches provide direct support and facilitate daily programming activities for intellectually/developmentally disabled children, teens, and young adults who exhibit extreme behavioral challenges. The role involves making a difference in the lives of individuals with Autism and/or Intellectual developmental disabilities, providing supervision, ensuring safety, and assisting in educational and vocational programming. Coaches will facilitate leisure activities, participate in community outings, and assist individuals in daily living skills while promoting their independence. This position requires crisis intervention skills, including de-escalation of aggressive individuals and, at times, physical interventions. Coaches will also be responsible for writing monthly progress notes and meal preparation, following nutrition guidelines.
