Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 3 months separation from employment. Consider the role of an integrated behavioral health clinician working within a multidisciplinary team. This is a part-time, 20-hour position, which offers care to the students within the School Based Health Center at Boothbay Regional High School and Elementary School located at 236 Townsend Ave in Boothbay Harbor, which is picturesque seaside community. If you are looking for full-time employment, this position can be partnered with other positions available in the Behavioral Health Integration Program. This school-based health center position offers a flexible schedule with the option of year-round employment or working the school calendar. In addition, this position is eligible for student loan repayment through the National Health Service Corps. The behavioral health clinician would work closely with the school-based health center medical provider and school personnel to best support students. This is a great opportunity to provide easy access for students in the environment where they spend most of their day. And integrated care reduces stigma and increases the student's willingness to participate in care. The clinician's role includes providing screening, assessments, and focused brief treatment to students who use the health center. Treatment structure includes individual, family, and group work. Additional functions of the role include providing curbside consultation to providers, linking students to additional services and supports, and participating in population health activities that target the health and wellbeing of specific groups of people. Persons interested in this position must be comfortable working with children, adolescents, and their families. Knowledge of and interest in treating substance use disorders is preferred. Your work is enhanced by being part of a larger team with solid experience in integrated work. Collaborative work with psychiatrists and other integrated clinicians in the MaineHealth system adds to the experience. Individual supervision, group supervision, psychiatry consultation, and quarterly training are benefits of this position. Summary Level I: The role of Behavioral Health Clinician I, working under a conditional license, involves providing comprehensive care and support to clients with behavioral health needs. The key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing direct care through individual, group, and family therapy sessions. The counselor is also responsible for maintaining clinical records, collaborating with community providers, and participating in team meetings to ensure effective treatment and discharge planning. The Behavioral Health Clinician I will be under direct clinical supervision to work towards independent licensure. Level II: The role of Behavioral Health Clinician II, working under an independent license, involves providing comprehensive care and support to clients with behavioral health needs. The key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing direct care through individual, group, and family therapy sessions.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Clinical Counseling, Addiction Treatment, or related field
  • Level I: LMSW-cc, LCPC-c, or LMFT-c from the respective licensing board of the State of Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR).
  • Level II: Licensed LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT from the respective licensing board of the State of Maine Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation (OPOR)
  • Level I: Behavioral health experience including internship prior to becoming a conditionally licensed clinician.
  • Level II: At least two years of behavioral health experience including employment as a conditionally licensed clinician.

Nice To Haves

  • Maine state licensure to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of and interest in treating substance use disorders is preferred.
