About The Position

Responsible for conducting internal audits, supporting regulatory compliance, staff education, and quality improvement initiatives across assigned programs. Provides technical assistance related to documentation, investigations, and regulatory standards while supporting leadership in preparation for external audits. Ensures compliance with OASAS, OMH, and applicable federal and state regulations, and promotes service excellence throughout the organization St. Catherine of Siena Hospital is the largest in-patient psychiatric facility in Suffolk County, St. Catherine's Department of Psychiatry provides holistic, patient-centered care and advocacy services for adults aged 18 and older with a primary diagnosis of mental illness. Conditions treated include schizophrenia, and bipolar and depressive disorder conditions. Our nurses, physicians and support staff are devoted to providing advanced health care in an environment of compassion to our patients, their families and our community. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits. Requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
  • Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills
  • Flexible and responsive in crisis situations
  • Travel to agency and offsite locations as needed
  • Active NYS Registered Nurse license (required)
  • 3–5 years’ experience in an OMH, OASAS, or OPWDD-regulated setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of NYS Justice Center reporting and audit processes preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled and as-needed internal audits of assigned programs
  • Provide guidance on documentation, medical necessity, reimbursement, and compliance
  • Support quality improvement through data collection, reporting, and indicator development
  • Assist programs in meeting regulatory requirements through training and technical support
  • Participate in and document incident investigations in accordance with regulatory guidelines
  • Prepare leadership and programs for external audits and monitor regulatory changes
  • Communicate trends, findings, and recommendations to supervisors and program leadership
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies as needed
  • Perform additional duties aligned with professional scope and departmental needs
