About The Position

ACRS seeks a full-time Behavioral Health Clinical Director who is responsible for the overall day to day clinical operations of the state licensed Behavioral Health Services (BH)Department specific to core mental health services. Ensures the delivery of quality clinical service with attention to cultural relevance/competency, diversity, equity and inclusion and within a whole person, integrated care framework, while in compliance with state, federal, county and contract specific requirements and guidelines. Assists the department director in the strategic development of quality integrated BH program while ensuring the financial health of the programs, supporting all clinical staff including clinical supervisors, case managers and medical staff to meet the needs of Asian and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (A&NHPI) communities.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Social or Behavioral Sciences, with minority mental health specialization designation and a minimum of three (3) years clinical supervision experience.
  • Experience with individuals with chronic mental illness and A&NH/PI communities.
  • Requires Mental Health Professional standing with at least five (5) years experience in mental health services to populations with long term mental illness. Registered/licensed per WAC requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to provide effective and respectful quality care and services that are responsive to diverse cultural beliefs and practices.
  • Ability to work as a team member with professional and support staff; exercise high degree of judgment and organize multiple tasks/priorities/deadlines.
  • Knowledge of: clinical supervision, case management, program development and administration; theory, practice and principles as applied to mental/emotional illness, characteristics of mental/emotional illness, social determinants of health, community support model, trends; bicultural interviewing and teaching techniques.
  • Effective ability to navigate a personal computer. Competency in use of the Microsoft Office and other relevant software for word processing, calendaring, e-mail, and data entry. Efficiently research and perform various tasks via the internet.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes and directs the core mental health clinical service operations of the BH department. Ensures that clinical program requirements, goals and standards as a state licensed mental health outpatient service provider and King County credentialed outpatient mental health provider, are met. Incorporates appropriate clinical perspectives, with attention to cultural relevance/competency, diversity, equity and inclusion. With the Special Programs Director, ensures the seamless integration of clinical operations and BH recovery support services to promote whole health, whole person integrated care.
  • Works collectively with the Department Director, Special Programs Director and all department staff in strategic planning and program development for the provision of quality whole person, whole health integrated BH service to A&NH/PI community members.
  • Work with the Department Director, Clinical Supervisors and Special Programs Director in promoting the financial health of the department, including development and oversight of the annual budget, and management of program revenue and costs.
  • Supervises, trains, and provides clinical and administrative support to BH clinical supervisors, intake coordinator, and other assigned staff. Enforces agency personnel policies and procedures; conducts timely performance reviews; participates in hiring/firing process; approves salary increases per agency budget and policies; takes formal corrective action per agency policies; resolves complaints and grievances lodged by staff.
  • Responsible for developing and coordinating overall core BH staff training including new staff orientation, state, county, various contract required training, clinical, and cultural competency training.
  • Lead the Quality Assurance process to ensure and improve outcomes, work flows, and processes of the BH department. Ensure quality of mental health services to clients by providing support to staff and performing specialized mental health treatment, crisis intervention and/or clinical consultation. Resolves complaints and grievances lodged by clients.
  • Represents agency Behavioral Health department at King County and other system meetings as assigned. Provides educational training or consultation to community partners, schools, or other institutions as appropriate.
  • Attends all agency, program and team meetings, in-service trainings, and supervision.

  • Pay range is between $121,700 to $173,900 annually based on experience.
