About The Position

We offer part-time and full-time positions, with a variety of schedules and hours available. We are always looking for driven, enthusiastic people to join our team. $250 Sign-On Bonus Goodwill Counseling & Wellness team offers an incentive plan to both part and full time Counselors and Case Managers. Team members can earn up to $550 on a quarterly basis. Summary Reports to the Coordinator of Case Management and works cooperatively with community partners to provide outreach and case management services to persons with mental illness and/or substance use disorders. The ultimate goal of behavioral health case management services is to engage/re-engage persons with needed community resources.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health-related field required and some level of licensure in treatment of mental illness or substance abuse preferred. Education related to and experience working with persons who have experienced homelessness, mental illness, and/or substance abuse problems.
  • Employee must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill's liability insurance provider.
  • If at any time the employee is unable to maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to GESMV’s liability insurance provider, they must immediately notify Human Resources.
  • Must maintain the ability to pass a criminal background check and random drug screens.
  • Ability to document, record, and write information accurately and thoroughly.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule with evenings and weekends.
  • Commitment to the community adjustment of people with serious and persistent mental illness.
  • An annual criminal background check may be required of employees serving mental health trainees and behavioral health services programs.
  • Must be able to work independently with little direct supervision as well as have the ability to work cooperatively as a team member.
  • Must be able to follow through with projects and assignments in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to deal with daily operational challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Must possess excellent customer service, organizational, writing, and reading skills.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well with a broad spectrum of people, including consumers and employees.
  • Good time management, planning, and implementation skills.
  • Ability to manage to budget.
  • Ability to think creatively and problem-solve.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working cooperatively with law enforcement is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Coordinator of Case Management in program planning and implementation.
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide case management services, including assessment of needs, treatment planning, providing information/referral about available services (within and outside of GESMV), and coordination of care.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with other behavioral health staff, staff from other GESMV programs, and community partners (law enforcement, housing providers, mental health agencies, area businesses, and others).
  • Performs work in an ethical manner and ensures that persons are treated with dignity and respect. The self-determination of persons must be acknowledged and respected.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to work with a diverse staff and client population.
  • Review documentation and records to meet requirements for Medicaid billing of case management services (with assistance from the Director of Behavioral Health).
  • Complete first-day paperwork and develop Individualized Service Plans (ISP) with persons willing to receive case management services.
  • Compile necessary reports and documentation as required.
  • Provide the supervisor with necessary documentation and reports in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure compliance with all agency policies, procedures, and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, Department of Labor, and Mental Health regulatory standards.
  • Travel within the community to assist persons in securing necessary resources as required. Provide transportation with an agency van and maintain adequate liability insurance.
