About The Position

Behavioral Health Associate Seven Hills Hospital is a growing, private, 134-bed psychiatric hospital that is dedicated to providing high-quality care for adults, geriatrics, and adolescents (ages 5-17) who are suffering from behavioral health and chemical dependency issues. Our patients recover at our new, state-of-the art medical facility in the Seven Hills area of Henderson, Nevada. Henderson is one of the fastest growing cities in the US and is located just 7 miles from the famed Las Vegas Strip and a couple of miles from beautiful Lake Mead. Seven Hills Hospital is part of the Acadia Healthcare, a provider of behavioral healthcare services throughout the US. Join the team of highly dedicated mental health professionals. We are presently looking for Full Time Behavioral Health Associates who will be responsible for provision of routine mental health/psychiatric nursing care for inpatients and partial hospitalization patients in the Adolescent, Adult Psychiatric, Adult Chemical Dependency and Geriatric Programs under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. Position participates in the direct delivery of patient care by observation, involving patients in scheduled program activities, assisting patients with activities of daily living (ADL’s), transferring patients, transporting patients to outside appointments, monitoring and reporting behaviors to the RN and obtaining vital signs, monitoring nutritional intake, sleep patterns and other indicators of mental/behavioral status and results are documented per policy.

Requirements

High School degree or GED
CPR Healthcare Provider
At least one (1) experience in behavioral health.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or healthcare field preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing strategies for helping patients to be as independent as possible
Provide input to the treatment team that contributes to formulation/revision to the treatment plan.
Monitor for behavioral improvements and reinforce these behaviors.
Encourage patients to participate in interpersonal and other therapeutic activities to enhance their interpersonal skills.
Reinforce new skills learned by patients from therapists, physicians and RNs that promote improved physical and/or mental wellness.
Order and inventory forms and medical supplies appropriately.
Monitor and document patient fluid and nutritional intake.
Assist each patient with Activities of Daily Living.
Provide patient personal and belongings searches.
Assist with restocking supplies and forms, making copies and filing documents in unit binders and in patients’ charts.
Make patient rounds every 15 minutes, maintain line of sight and or 1:1 observation as ordered by the physician and document findings.
Participate in restraint/seclusion as assigned.
Participate in unit codes in order to evacuate patients for safety per SHH policies.
Act as trainer/mentor for new employees
