A Mental Health Aide who excels in this role: Assists in the day-to-day operations of the Adult Inpatient Unit/CTF (Transitions Unit). Maintain and promote effective communication between unit and other departments. Document clinical services. Exhibits teamwork in providing services. Demonstrates professional accountability Implement measures that safeguard the welfare, care, health, and safety of the unit including patients, families and coworkers. Demonstrate basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the population, culture, and specific needs of the patients served. Requirements

  • Minimum Education High School diploma required.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP)
  • Perioperative Nurse (CNOR)
  • Must have or apply for a Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor within thirty (30) days of employment.
  • May work as an agency affiliated counselor while the application is processed by the state, or possess current Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA), Licensed Advance Social Worker (LASW), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Social Worker Associate & Advanced (LSWAA) as defined by the Washington State Department of Health.
  • Three (3) years' recent clinical / management experience in mental health treatment preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in social work, psychology, sociology or related field preferred
  • Bilingual and/or English-Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse population.
