About The Position
The Behavioral Assessment Specialist will effectively plan, implement, and facilitate assessment screening tools to inform the identified needs and subsequent placement recommendations for youth committed to the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ). This role involves coordinating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to synthesize relevant information, identify and collate additional information needed for decision making, and provide feedback to the staffing team, all in accordance with policies and procedures and in alignment with risk, need, and responsivity. Selected individuals must complete the Virginia DJJ's Basic Skills and Handle with Care training and obtain certifications in First-Aid and CPR.
