About The Position

The Behavioral Aide position is a part-time role located in Paramount, CA, specifically within the Paramount Unified School District. The primary responsibility of the Behavioral Aide is to provide direct support to students with special needs during school hours, Monday through Friday. The aide will assist in various activities planned by the school district staff, help maintain an orderly classroom environment, and support students in their learning and social skills development. The role may involve working with students individually, in small groups, or in whole class settings, and may require assistance with personal care tasks such as toileting and hygiene.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to students with special needs.
  • Participate in activities planned by the school district staff.
  • Assist in the preparation and development of instructional training activities and materials.
  • Assist school district staff with in-class activities based on specific instructions.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly classroom environment.
  • Use effective teaching and behavior management techniques.
  • Assist with assessing student needs under direct supervision.
  • Provide general impressions and observations of students.
  • Work with students in various group settings.
  • Assist with classroom technology and adaptive devices.
  • Support students with social skills.
  • Assist with toileting, diapering, dressing, and hygiene.
  • Administer emergency treatment when necessary.
  • Supervise playground activities.
  • Participate in program planning meetings.
  • Perform other job-related work as required.
