About The Position

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required for BA I-II; Bachelor's degree required for BA III.
  • Prior experience in a school or treatment setting, working with students needing learning, social, emotional, or behavioral assistance.
  • DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance required.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proficient with standard software applications and the internet.

Nice To Haves

  • Pro-ACT, CPI intervention training, and/or CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers with providing instructional support in content areas and implement Individual Education Plans (IEP) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
  • Provide instructional support tailored to individual student needs.
  • Be adaptable to report to assigned location(s) within a specific region.
  • Respond to emergency situations (e.g., fights, seizures) using Pro-ACT and/or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) methods.
  • Monitor and assist students during class breaks, meals, transportation, and bathroom use.
  • Participate in and/or facilitate recreational activities like athletics, crafts, and off-campus trips.
  • Demonstrate Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies to increase or decrease targeted behaviors.
  • Record daily data on student behavior, skills progression, incidents, and learning objectives.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisors and agency staff regarding student status and any potential issues.
  • Serve as a substitute teacher as needed (for BA III only).

Benefits

  • Hiring bonus of $900, paid in two installments ($500 in the first month and $400 in the last paycheck of the school year).
