About The Position

The Behavior Technician role at Beyond Behavior California involves working directly with children, teens, and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and related disorders. The position focuses on implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies in various settings, including homes and schools, to enhance the lives of clients through consistent and engaging therapy. The technician will collaborate closely with families and clinical supervisors to track progress and ensure high-quality programming.

Requirements

  • Ability to sit and stand as needed throughout sessions.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Reliable transportation to and between clients' homes.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to provide immunization records.
  • Ability to provide proof of certifications, credentials, or degrees, including RBT/BCAT.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children in settings such as summer camps, after school programs, babysitting, preschools, elementary schools, educational settings, nannying, tutoring, swim instruction, coaching, or mentoring.

Responsibilities

  • Work one-on-one with children, teens, and young adults with ASD and related disorders.
  • Take data on observed behavior as trained by your Clinical Supervisor and BCBA.
  • Implement high-quality ABA programming and protocols, including Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
  • Communicate effectively with parents and families of assigned clients.
  • Attend trainings on and utilize Applied Behavior Analysis concepts and strategies.
  • Establish a fun and reinforcing aspect of the client's day during therapy sessions.
  • Demonstrate ethical and mature behavior in client homes, including proper dress code and punctuality.
  • Submit timesheets daily with parent signatures and communicate promptly with relevant parties regarding session cancellations.
