The Behavior Technician position at Jaworek Elementary School for the 2025-2026 work year (214 days, including a Summer Program) involves providing highly structured behavioral support to students. Key responsibilities include running programs for skill acquisition across academic, communication, motor, social, and adaptive daily living skills (including toileting, grooming, dressing, and eating) using systematic prompting. The role requires collecting and graphing data to track student progress, assisting students in generalizing learned skills within general education settings, and implementing play plans to facilitate social interactions during unstructured times. The Behavior Technician will also collect student work, gather and organize educational materials, and work with students who may exhibit challenging behaviors such as aggression, property destruction, self-injury, non-compliance, disruption, inattention, social deficits, and safety concerns. Implementing specific behavior protocols, maintaining crisis prevention certification (e.g., Safety-Care), and performing physical restraints and escorts as needed are also part of the role. The technician will consult with special educators, general educators, and behavior specialists, complete daily home communication logs, and attend required meetings and trainings after school. Other general duties may be assigned by the Principal, Superintendent, or Marlborough School Committee.
