The behavior technician plays a crucial role in providing support to ensure student and staff safety. Under the training of district behavior specialists, the behavior technician builds teachers’ skills and understanding of effective behavioral practices to increase student learning. A behavior technician ensures effective interventions are provided to support student behavior and social-emotional learning.This person is responsible for assisting students prior to, during, and after a crisis situation by observing students and modeling behavior techniques in the classroom and school building. Behavior technicians work collaboratively as a team with members of the Student Services Department as well as within school and district teams.
