The Behavior Technician I is primarily responsible for the direct implementation of behavior-analytic services. The Program Director will determine which tasks a Behavior Technician may perform as a function of their training, experience, and competence. This role involves providing direct behavioral services to clients in individual and group sessions, running skill acquisition programs using Applied Behavior Analysis, and implementing specific procedures for skill acquisition. Behavior Technicians work with Board Certified Behavior Analysts to implement individualized treatment plans, conduct preference assessments, and assist with functional assessment procedures. They are also responsible for reporting variables that might affect the client (e.g., illness, relocation, medication), generating objective session notes by describing what occurred during sessions, implementing continuous/discontinuous measurement procedures and permanent product recording procedures, collecting data and creating graphs, and implementing behavior reduction interventions and procedures. The position requires identifying the essential components of a written behavior reduction plan, complying with applicable legal, regulatory, and workplace reporting requirements, communicating effectively with members, families, supervisors, and other stakeholders, maintaining professional boundaries, and adhering to an approved schedule and acceptable level of attendance. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
