About The Position

I Am Boundless is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and has been serving Ohio for over 40 years. The organization's mission is to build a world that realizes the boundless potential of all people. As a Behavior Technician, you will play a meaningful role in a residential therapeutic setting, working with individuals who require behavior stabilization due to diagnoses such as autism spectrum disorder, behavioral health conditions, and/or developmental disabilities. This role involves constant engagement with and supervision of individuals, implementing programs specific to their needs based on their Individualized Plans (IP), utilizing Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) as a highly scheduled, intensive therapeutic approach to teach expected behavior and life skills, and implementing highly structured Behavior Support Plans. The position also involves crisis intervention for issues including self-injury, aggression, and high magnitude disruptive behavior.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to communicate in English, including both spoken and in writing
  • First Aid, CPR - adult, child and infant certification
  • Delegated nursing certification
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License with Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles
  • Proof of auto insurance
  • No more than 5 points on license
  • Must be detail oriented and have competent literacy and writing, documentation, communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Must be able to use tools and equipment as required – including pushing/pulling wheelchairs, lifting consumers with hoyer lifts

Nice To Haves

  • Three-year experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and/or behavioral health conditions
  • Experience implementing applied behavior analysis
  • College Degree in related field

Responsibilities
