About The Position

Akoya Behavioral Health is a clinician owned and operated in-home ABA program specializing in children with autism. Our focus is on the family and client together and we believe that by incorporating and supporting the family/caregivers together, we can do more. Our clinical team is lead by a BCBA with over 20 years of experience in the ABA field, having served families and children in more than a dozen different states. Our Guiding Principles include Strengthening Skills, Cultivating Communication, and Inspiring Independence. By growing and working together, our team continues to expand how and what we do to help support the families and children we serve. Our focus is on building a team of experts that support many functions within Akoya and support the strengths of each team member individually. We work to foster effective and open communication amongst the different team members and departments to ensure that all employees are able to get involved and make a difference regardless of position or level. We also work to improve not only the independence of the children we work with, but to support the independence and work of all team members.

Requirements

  • High school degree or higher.
  • Preferably a portion of or complete bachelor’s degree in child development, psychology, or early education.
  • RBT certification in good standing preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Passion for working with children.
  • Reliable transportation and Driver’s License required.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, squat, run, and lift up to 30 pounds (as needed).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 care using the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) in the homes of the families we serve.
  • Implement individualized strength-based treatment plans.
  • Collect data, monitor progress, and support client development in areas including communication, leisure and independent play, social skills, and daily living skills.
  • Manage problematic/interfering behaviors through effective intervention strategies.
  • Provide regular updates to the clinical team regarding client progress.
  • Maintain assent and ensure a positive and respectful environment at all times.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and caregivers, fostering collaborative relationships.
  • Remain open and curious to learn new skills and methodologies.
  • Utilize creative teaching and problem-solving skills to enhance the learning experience.
