About The Position

The Midwest Adult Autism Project has a full time opening for a team player who wants to be a part of a program that enables adults living with autism to learn new skills and participate in meaningful activity. The Behavior Technician will assist with the development, organization, and operations of the MAAP Program, providing direct support to participants and implementing various activities to help them achieve their goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Experience working with people with autism or other special needs population highly preferred.
  • Must be certified in CPR, first aid and MANDT (these trainings will be provided upon hire along with required agency trainings).

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supports to participants in our MAAP program.
  • Implement a wide variety of cognitive, social, recreational, and community integration activities for program participants to achieve goals.
  • Provide oversight and supervision to participants in accordance to Individual Supports Plans and Behavioral Support Plans.
  • Assist with activities of daily living (ADL), which can include dressing, meal prep, some hygiene and perineal care.
  • Collaborate with other team members while supporting participants.
  • Accompany participants to community based outings and volunteer sites.
