About The Position

We are excited to be opening a new center in Owing Mills, MD and have opportunities for BT/RBTs. Our passionate clinicians and technicians work one-on-one with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) ages 1 to 6 to prepare them to thrive in school and life. The Behavior Technician (BT) provides 1:1 treatment to assigned clients, between 18 months and six years old, based on evidenced-based practices (i.e., Applied Behavior Analysis; ABA). The BT will deliver individualized therapy hours based on the plans and protocols developed by the Supervising Behavior Analyst and collect data on the client’s progress. The BT must be able to work cooperatively with team members and maintain open and positive communication with families, co-workers, supervisor(s), and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma is required; completion of associate degree/bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, special education, or related field is strongly preferred.
  • Commitment to earning a Registered Behavior Technician credential within 60 - 90 days of hire.
  • Experience working with children with special needs, e.g., autism or developmental delays.
  • Ability to follow instructional guidance and to follow ABA programs.
  • Ability to interact well with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a therapy team member.
  • Ability to work well independently and seek assistance when needed.
  • Possess strong attention to detail for data collection.
  • Organized, flexible and willing to take constructive feedback.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Able to maintain client confidentiality.
  • Technologically adept.

Responsibilities

  • Implementation of individual treatment plan for assigned caseload (i.e., individual).
  • Implements procedures by which client’s objectives will be met in accordance with the client’s assessment and treatment plan to fidelity.
  • With oversight from the SBA, evaluates the effectiveness of procedures using direct observation, data collection, and discusses progress with the clinical supervisor.
  • Provides input on the need for new objectives and treatments as targets are mastered.
  • Notifies supervisor(s) of any critical incidents immediately and completes an incident report.
  • Documents client’s progress in daily data collection and session notes on treatment goals.
  • Converts 'timesheet,' completes session note, and ensures session start and end times are accurate.
  • Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings, required training, and other meetings as assigned.
  • Completes all tasks related to preparation for sessions and cleaning up after completed sessions.
  • Informs supervisor immediately of any important concerns pertaining to families’ or schools’ services.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and listens to constructive feedback.
  • Maintains the security of all media containing client protected health information.
  • Prepares all services and documents in a culturally sensitive manner.
  • Returns phone calls and emails within 24 – 48 business hours.
  • Preserves the rights of each client and family, while maintaining professional boundaries.
