About The Position

Provide specialized instruction and develop and implement strategies and behavioral interventions to support students with emotional and behavioral challenges succeed academically and socially.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Certification: Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with Special Education (EC-12) endorsement
  • Experience: Minimum of two years teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instruction in behavioral regulation, social skills, and coping strategies as outlined in students' IEPs.
  • Implement and monitor Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) using evidence-based, positive behavior supports.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to support inclusion and consistency of behavioral supports.
  • Participate in ARD/IEP meetings to provide data-based input regarding behavioral goals, accommodations, and extended educational programming.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to ensure consistency between school and home behavioral supports.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all district, state, and federal special education requirements.
