About The Position

Lifesteps, a local, human services agency, is currently recruiting for a Full-Time Behavior Specialist to work with individuals who live in a Lifesteps community home program or individuals who are external participants. Behavior Specialists promote individual health, safety, and quality of life through behavioral skill development. The Behavior Specialist will be based in the Murrysville / Monroeville area and will travel throughout Westmoreland, Washington, and Allegheny Counties to provide services to adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. The schedule is 9 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

Master's Degree in Human Services or a closely related field.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
Current driver's license and valid auto insurance.

Nice To Haves

Coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and experience working with adults with an intellectual disability
ABA Certification
Trama-informed care, such as Certified Trauma Professional (CTP) or Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
PA Behavior Specialist Licensure

Responsibilities

The Behavioral Specialist performs a functional assessment and develops strategies to support a participant accordingly. This could include: social emotional plans, functional behavioral analyses, behavior plans, restrictive procedures, and associated documentation necessary for tracking plan implementation.
Provides on-site training to participants, staff, parents and caregivers and monitors participant success.
Develops effective behavior support plans to be utilized by the care team and evaluates participant progress.
