About The Position

As a Behavioral Intervention Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in helping individuals thrive by designing, implementing, and refining behavior support strategies that are practical, person-centered, and grounded in data.

Requirements

Strong ability to analyze and communicate data clearly to both professionals and non-clinical staff
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build rapport and maintain therapeutic, professional relationships
Calm, supportive presence during behavioral crises, with appropriate supervision and direction
Openness to feedback and a commitment to continuous professional growth
Sound judgment when balancing individual needs, staff support, and agency policies
Willingness to work some late afternoons, early evenings, and occasional weekends
BACHELOR'S IN A RELATED FIELD LIKE PSYCHOLOGY, EDUCATION, OR BEHAVIORAL SCIENCE REQUIRED.
At least 2 years of experiences working with people with special needs.

MASTERS DEGREE HIGHLY PREFERRED.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and monitor Behavior Support Plans for adults with developmental disabilities in residential settings
Collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data to guide clinical decision-making and plan revisions
Train, coach, and support Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) in the effective implementation of behavior interventions
Conduct direct observations and collaborate with program leadership to ensure consistent, high-quality support
Participate in interdisciplinary teams and contribute to quality improvement initiatives
