About The Position

The Behavior Specialist (BCBA) at May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities in Chicopee, MA, plays a crucial role in supporting children with developmental disabilities. Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's of Applied Behavior Analysis program or a related field (e.g., psychology, special education).
  • Master's degree in a related field or a certificate program to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) accepted.
  • Board Certification as a Behavior Analyst (BCBA/BCBA-D) and/or ABA State License (LABA) preferred.
  • Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst considered.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and empathy for children and families.
  • Exceptional clinical skills in conducting functional behavior assessments and developing behavior intervention plans.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of best practices in providing ABA services for children with autism.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with children with autism.
  • Familiarity with CASP autism guidelines and state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the implementation of ABA services.
  • Develop and monitor behavior support plans and individualized treatment plans.
  • Compile data and create graphs to assess the effectiveness of treatment plans and skill assessments.
  • Provide training and support to staff and engage with parents for skill maintenance at home.
  • Collaborate with a diverse range of children and families in a fast-paced environment.
