Requirements

High School Diploma
Must meet physical requirements
Must meet general qualifications of a paraprofessional
Must function as part of a multi-disciplinary team in meeting physical and emotional needs of special education children in a highly structured setting.
Familiarity with evidence based and best practices working with students with ASD
Extensive experience implementing behavior intervention plans and emergency intervention plans
Extensive experience using CPI de-escalation and restrictive procedure techniques
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
Excellent communication skills
Experience with data collection
Ability to analyze data, under guidance of the behavior specialist
Familiarity with Google Platform
Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality
Must fulfill "Highly Qualified" Federal requirements, and all State and Federal standards (passed ETS Parapro Assessment and /or Associate's Degree)
Excellent attendance and punctuality necessary
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education and/or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable

Responsibilities

Work closely with the behavior specialist and center program staff to respond to crisis situations
Ability to work collaboratively as a team to respond quickly in the event of a crisis
Ability to provide positive behavior supports to students with and without behavior intervention plans
Work with classroom teams to reinforce positive behavior expectations
Attend team/parent meetings, as directed
Other duties as assigned
