Vacancies exist for a full-time Behavior Mentors at the Child and Career Development Center within the Student Services division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit, located in Coatesville, PA. This position involves providing direct behavior support to students with behavioral and emotional support needs. The primary role of the behavior mentor is to implement proactive, evidence-based strategies both individually with students and with staff by modeling strategies. The behavior mentor uses principles of applied behavior analysis to extinguish negative behaviors and promote positive replacement behaviors as developed in students' IEPs. The mentor works collaboratively with classroom staff to implement Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSPs), collect data on current IEP goals and interventions, and communicate noted trends to classroom staff. The mentor will utilize de-escalation techniques and management strategies for student-student or student-staff conflicts. The mentor works in conjunction with and reports directly to the Behavior Analyst.
