About The Position

EMPACT- Suicide Prevention Center, part of the La Frontera family, is an industry-leading non-profit organization dedicated to providing valued community services and resources for behavioral health counseling, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention since 1987. We are currently hiring for a Children's Behavior Management Specialist at our Tempe location. This position focuses on providing direct support with a strong emphasis on behavior management to adolescents and families in their homes, schools and/or in the community. This is a great opportunity for someone who is a self-starter; can work well within a team and is able to work a flexible schedule. It will facilitate groups assisting adolescents to work toward independent living, as well as healthy activities in the community.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • BHT level as stipulated by AZDHS/BHS is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year prior experience in an applicable or relevant setting.
  • Knowledge of Behavior Management Techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Fingerprint clearance card or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Valid AZ driver's license with no major infractions in the past three years.
  • Regular access to reliable transportation.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older at time of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with at-risk adolescents.
  • Experience working with children in DCS care and knowledge of the RBHA children system.
  • Experience assisting teens with independent living skills and transitioning to adulthood.
  • Teen Substance Abuse experience.
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support with a strong emphasis on behavior management to adolescents and families.
  • Facilitate groups assisting adolescents to work toward independent living.
  • Work collaboratively with teams serving families within the Child and Family Team process.
  • Adhere to deadlines, medical records compliance, and performance requirements.
  • Transport clients to and from services, including up to 7 youth at a time.
