Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience working with students.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with staff, students, and families.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of the IEP process and ability to write IEPs.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience in social work case reporting and writing.
• Ability to counsel students, parents, and staff individually and in groups.
• Knowledge and skills working with students from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments and evaluations in accordance with family and student rights.
• Identify needs affecting student learning based on assessment results.
• Administer necessary academic and behavior assessments for eligible students.
• Provide social work counseling to students and parents.
• Conduct psycho-social assessments and diagnose behavior disabilities with recommendations.
• Participate in planning, implementation, and follow-up phases of proficiency testing.
• Make referrals to public or private agencies and serve as a liaison between school, family, and community resources.
• Participate in case conferences and collaborate with other personnel and agencies.
• Work individually with students to address personal problems related to home, health, and emotional adjustment.
• Develop and implement academic and behavior intervention plans for students on caseload.
• Provide in-service training for staff in guidance programs and conflict resolution.
• Maintain student records according to regulations and protect confidentiality.
