Our Behavior Interventionists impact students' lives by: Implementing with fidelity the school discipline and behavioral support systems Collaborating with student support team members and teachers to help students maintain high behavior expectations Working closely with the classroom teacher to support instruction for more than 50% of the workday Building effective relationships with students and families and professionally communicating with families to encourage behavior changes at the school Maintaining a school culture conducive to raising student achievement including, but not limited to, monitoring behavior pull-out rooms, hallways, cafeteria, after-school detention, and recess Collecting and analyzing behavioral data to inform discipline decisions and improve practice Providing supportive interventions to families and students After CPI training, implementing de-escalation techniques when working with students in crisis Responding with urgency to student support needs Transitioning disruptive students quickly and without escalation from the classroom Monitoring behavior pull-out rooms so students have a calm and orderly place to redirect themselves Implementing weekly feedback and goal-setting into daily practice Participating in daily, weekly, and quarterly meetings about student achievement Participating in the life of the school, including student activities and events Embodying, advocating, and operationalizing the mission, vision, and direction of the school Taking on other tasks as needed
