About The Position

The Multicultural Learning Center (MLC) is a TK-8 dual language public charter school with the mission to bring together a diverse community of learners where cultural and individual differences are the building blocks of academic, social, and intrapersonal success. Requirements

• Minimum of BA degree and/or equivalent schooling and experience working with students in an educational setting.
• All required BII training (provided by school if needed).
• Bilingual in Spanish and English.
• Ability to communicate effectively as well as understand and carry out oral and written directions.
• Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children and adults.
• Knowledge of basic concepts of child growth/development and developmental behavior.
• Behavior management strategies and techniques relating to pupils experiencing behavioral difficulties.
• Understanding of positive behavioral interventions and applied behavior analysis.
• Must have a strong desire to work with children, especially those with special needs.
• Ability to remain calm under stressful conditions.
• Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
• Ability to bend at waist, kneel, or crouch to assist students.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift and carry weights up to 25 pounds.
