The Behavior Interventionist II position at Easterseals Southern California involves providing specialized behavioral interventions to individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related disabilities. Under general supervision, the role requires the implementation of planned interventions, which may include discrete trials, antecedent and consequence modifications, and reinforcement strategies. The Behavior Interventionist will work directly with children in various settings, including their homes and the community, to teach both the diagnosed individuals and their caregivers effective strategies aimed at increasing skills and reducing behavioral excesses. In addition to direct intervention, the Behavior Interventionist is responsible for educating parents and caregivers, coordinating specialized training, and preparing instructional materials. The role also includes attending staff meetings, in-service training, and other required meetings to ensure alignment with treatment plans and ongoing professional development. Documentation is a critical component of this position, as the Behavior Interventionist must complete evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, and exit summaries, while also maintaining up-to-date records related to the program and participants. Staying informed about the latest research and trends in autism and special education is essential for this role. The Behavior Interventionist will also perform other duties as assigned, contributing to a collaborative and supportive environment for both clients and their families.
