About the position

The Behavior Intervention Coordinator at Woodlands Behavioral Healthcare Network is responsible for assisting and monitoring consumers with mental illness, emotional disturbances, and developmental disabilities. This role involves linking and coordinating behavioral intervention services, providing clinical support, and ensuring the implementation of evidence-based practices in a safe and welcoming environment. The coordinator will also train staff on positive behavioral support plans and participate in interdisciplinary teams to promote recovery-based practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and monitor consumers with mental illness, emotional disturbances, and developmental disabilities.
  • Link and coordinate behavioral intervention services for consumers.
  • Provide clinical support and consultation to professional staff regarding behavioral strategies and interventions.
  • Develop and assist in the implementation of Positive Support Plans with Case Holders for adults and children.
  • Ensure therapeutic outcomes are measurable and consumer-driven, and document progress accurately.
  • Advocate for consumers' needs and make appropriate referrals for additional services.
  • Maintain a tracking system of behavioral services and review outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to standards for Behavior Treatment Review Committees (BTRC) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Work directly with individuals and families to facilitate desired behavioral changes.
  • Collect and analyze data to inform decision-making and adjust interventions as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, social work, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
  • State of Michigan Certification in behavior analysis (e.g., BCBA, BCABA, ABA) or fully licensed psychology.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Minimum of two years' experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs, particularly in behavior support roles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices.
