About The Position

The Nationwide Search for a Behavioral Health Surveyor seeks social workers, counselors, nurses, and psychologists with experience in the behavioral health care and human services field, particularly in opioid and other substance use disorder treatment. Leadership experience is necessary, and candidates are preferably located west of the Mississippi River near a major airport. Field Representatives will survey and review health care organizations across the United States with minimal direction or supervision. They will apply sophisticated analysis and inductive reasoning skills to assess compliance with applicable standards and the functionality of care delivery systems. The role requires advanced communication skills to engage health care organization staff in discussions about compliance and improvement opportunities, as well as superior written communication skills for preparing detailed management reports. Field Representatives must understand High Reliability, Robust Process Improvement, and Culture of Safety, and they will utilize RPI tools in their daily activities. Collaboration as a team member is essential, and participation in other Joint Commission activities may be required.
