About The Position

The Behavior Consultant in Training works under the supervision of a Senior Behavior Consultant or mentor BCBA, with administrative oversight from the SBS Program Director and Coordination Team. This role provides structured guidance and mentorship in accordance with BCBA standards while supporting clients through the application of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). The consultant collaborates with supervisors to conduct assessments, develop and revise individualized behavior plans, and offer consultation across school, community, and mental health settings.

Requirements

  • Active enrollment in a graduate-level program with at least two semesters completed.
  • Completion of coursework aligned with Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) requirements for BCBA eligibility.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant field experience is preferred.
  • Adherence to supervised fieldwork contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and youth with emotional or behavioral challenges.
  • Experience working in school settings is desirable.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct behavioral assessments and develop individualized behavior plans.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and revise treatment strategies based on client progress.
  • Manage or co-manage the behavior planning component of assigned cases.
  • Train and supervise staff in the implementation and evaluation of behavior plans.
  • Provide consultation to case managers and families.
  • Work with interdisciplinary teams across educational, clinical, and community settings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Provide client transportation using a personal or agency vehicle, with proof of adequate insurance coverage.
