About The Position

The Collaborative Achievement Team (CAT) of Northwestern Counseling & Support Services is seeking a Behavior Consultant to join their team! This is an excellent opportunity for advanced training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and continuing education through training and supervision. The CAT team provides 1:1 support for students in Grand Isle and Franklin counties for students with social, emotional, and behavioral skill deficits. The CAT team focuses on skill building in these areas to support students in accessing their education in their public school. The Behavior Consultant role includes responsibilities such as assessments (including functional behavior assessments), creating behavioral intervention plans for identified students, data summarization and interpretation, facilitating monthly meetings with school staff and/or families, and ongoing staff support. BCBA certification is preferred but we will support you in completing supervision requirements if you are in the process of obtaining your credentials. Candidates must have a master’s degree in human services or a related field and/or be actively enrolled in an ABA Master's program. Experience working with children implementing ABA services is a must, preferably experience with children with Emotional/Behavioral Disturbances. This position requires actively making recommendations and adjusting programming along with training, guiding, and supporting behavior interventionists (BI's) through individual supervision, observation, and team meetings. The ability to establish and maintain relationships with community partners (school staff, outside providers, families, etc.) is critical. Behavior consultants have access to numerous BCBAs within the agency, including dedicated time for weekly individual and group supervision.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in human services or a related field.
  • Experience working with children implementing ABA services.
  • Preferably experience with children with Emotional/Behavioral Disturbances.
  • BCBA or BCABA certification preferred.
  • Experience writing Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans preferred.

Responsibilities
