About The Position

The Behavior Consultant Assistant (BCA), under the direction of the Behavior Consultants (BCs), addresses client goals and needs across home, day services, employment, and community settings. Through direct, in-person support, BCAs assess the client’s current needs, monitor client progress towards goals, model and evaluate efficacy of person-centered behavior support plan (PCBSP) implementation, train and coach team members, monitor treatment integrity, and provide feedback on behavior programming to the lead BC. The BCA adheres to the principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and the Behavior Analysis Certification Board’s (BACB) Code of Ethics in all aspects of service delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
  • Previous knowledge/experience using Applied Behavior Analysis and/or formal training (college credits, RBT Certification, etc.).
  • Previous experience working with people diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.
  • Ability to implement, train, and coach other staff on the implementation of services and proper crisis prevention and intervention techniques.
  • Successful completion of Vista’s crisis intervention training.
  • High proficiency of Microsoft Office products and internet applications.
  • Successful completion of CPR and First Aid training.
  • Clean driving record, valid PA driver’s license, current vehicle inspection, up-to-date vehicle registration, and proof of adequate insurance coverage.
  • Required passing of all pre-employment regulatory and safety-sensitive employee requirements including, but not limited to, PPD testing, physical exam, and drug tests.

Nice To Haves

  • Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) certification.
  • Experience delivering ABA services under 6100 regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and prioritize expected and unexpected tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers direct, on-site support for approximately 80% of billable hours.
  • Provides active support in alignment with ALIFE COACH and person-centered active support (PCAS) modes.
  • Implements with integrity and monitors PCBSPs related to Individual Support Plan (ISP) outcomes.
  • Collects data and completes assessment activities for functional behavior and skill assessments.
  • Measures PCBSP and ISP goals and objectives.
  • Manages, monitors, and tests reliability of day-to-day data collection performed by DSPs.
  • Gathers feedback about plan efficacy to share with the lead BC.
  • Conducts interactions with clients and team members positively and professionally.
  • Collaborates regularly with clients and direct support professionals (DSPs) through in-person support.
  • Collaborates regularly with the lead BC to drive consistency and program efficacy.
  • As assigned, attends meetings and leads clinical meetings to report progress toward behavioral goals.
  • Coaches and trains Vista Adult Services DSPs on implementation of ISP outcomes, PCBSPs, restrictive procedures, ALIFE COACH, and other prescribed programming.
  • Communicates with staff to discuss programming, treatment fidelity, and training needs.
  • Transfers clinical skills to DSPs and other team members to enhance service quality.
  • Provides and receives coaching to improve team performance.
  • Provides training on ABA principles and autism spectrum disorder.
  • Completes clinical documentation assigned by behavior consultants, accepts feedback, and completes revisions in a timely manner.
  • Maintains and submits timely documentation, including service logs and billing.
  • Meets weekly billable hours target.
  • Engages in professional development to maintain certifications and expertise.
  • Contributes to the growth of other Vista staff.
  • Covers direct support shifts as assigned.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
