SUMMARY: Supervised by a Bradley clinician, the Behavior Coach will be responsible for the academic and behavioral intervention services for the school's regular education at risk-population. The primary role of the Behavior Coach is to be pre-emptive so that more children have their social, emotional, and behavioral needs met in the general education classroom. This position will provide a collaborative approach to support behavior and is designed to improve student outcomes. The Behavior Coach will proactively teach interpersonal skills in a social context; apply evidence-based support to be utilized in multi-tiered interventions; and assist with students behavior in and out of the classroom. The core Success Factors include: Instill Trust and Value Differences Patient and Community Focus and Collaborate RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborate with classroom teachers, principals, and school mental health team to develop meaningful professional development in best practices for social emotional learning based on the needs of the students. Identify tiers (I, II, III) that need support and develop a plan for support (e.g. reinforcing replacement behaviors in the cafeteria, playground etc.) Respond to students in crisis and using therapeutic evidence-based interventions. De-escalate significant/disruptive social, emotional, and behavioral challenges in students and support integration back into the classroom. Collaborate with administrators, faculty, and other staff to develop alternatives to in-school and out-of-school suspension. Check in with identified students to measure their achievement, recognize their achievement, express encouragement, and empathy. Use evidence-based interventions to support the development of skills in a proactive approach for identified students. Perform other duties as assigned.
