About The Position
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a patient and student-focused Behavior Assistant to support special education teams in delivering behavioral, emotional, and academic support. This role involves implementing behavior plans, supporting IEPs, and maintaining a safe, structured learning environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; relevant coursework preferred
- Experience with children, SPED, behavioral support, ABA, Autism, or PBIS preferred
- Ability to work calmly in high-energy situations
- Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills
- Patient, reliable, and committed to inclusive education
Responsibilities
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and positive behavior strategies
- Provide one-on-one and small-group student support
- Assist with social, emotional, and academic skill development
- Observe, document, and track behavioral progress
- Support classroom activities, transitions, and supervision
- Assist with de-escalation using approved techniques
- Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and behavior specialists
