About The Position

Provide supports to individual students by coordinating a variety of behavioral service delivery options, including discrete trial trainings and applied behavior analysis for ECSE students with challenging behavior and/or Autism Spectrum Disorders. The BCBA also consults with and supports instructional team members regarding pro-active behavioral modifications and/or interventions for educational programming.

Requirements

  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • In good standing with the BACB preferred
  • BCBA-eligible to be considered.
  • Master’s Degree in Special Education or related field is required with ability to obtain board certification as an Associate Behavior Analyst.
  • Knowledge and experience working with children with Autism Spectrum or related disorders.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices governing Special Education as it pertains to children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
  • Experience using behavioral and instructional strategies with students diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
  • Applicant possesses 1-3 years of experience working with children ages 3-5 with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or other developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate students for Applied Behavior Analysis programming and development of assessment reports.
  • Assist in the development, facilitation, conduction and follow up of training in discrete trial training, behavior analysis and applied behavior analysis.
  • Conduct functional assessments and functional analyses
  • Develop and monitor functionally- based behavior intervention plans
  • Monitors student’s on-going progress and provide graphic representation of progress as assigned.
  • Consult with ECSE classroom teachers and staff regarding programming, behavior issues and specific methods to be used with individual students.
  • Provides model teaching and other direct instructional supports.
  • Create and assist ECSE staff with the development and implementation of behavior plans, ABA programs and other appropriate programs for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or other disabilities that present behavior/learning challenges.
  • Attend IEP meetings to help develop appropriate goals and objectives and create transition plans.
  • Assist in the development and identification of resources and support information.
  • Keep current with literature, new research finding and resources.
  • Provide consultation services and maintain ongoing communication with all constituents; including Ferguson-Florissant School District staff, parents, community contacts and agencies.
  • Perform other duties and assume other such responsibilities as assigned.
