About The Position

The Behavior Analyst will collaborate with all members of a student’s IEP team to provide educational and behavioral programming based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. Responsibilities will include assessing students’ repertoires, developing and/or modifying curriculum to meet individual needs, monitor skill acquisition, developing and overseeing the implementation of behavior support plans, developing data collection systems, and training and supervising direct teaching staff in Applied Behavior Analysis. The Behavior Analyst collaborates with school staff in their efforts to achieve the best possible outcomes for the students served and to create a culture of excellence at VIA.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited school or university
  • 3+ years of experience in the field of autism
  • Supervision from Clinical Director and/or highly qualified individual
  • Experience as an ABA provider
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst
  • Valid Virginia medical license in Behavior Analysis
  • Extensive knowledge and skills in applied behavior analysis and evidence-based strategies for learners with autism and other developmental disabilities
  • Flexibility to travel/consult

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the programs of the children receiving services from VIA, including program development, implementation of programs, advancement of programs, and data collection
  • Maintaining confidentiality with staff, parents, public school personnel, and/or agencies
  • Working with the Behavior Technicians to determine strategies to be implemented that best suits the needs of the student including visual strategies, sensory needs, communication needs, social needs, behavioral issues, and reinforcement
  • Assessing student and his/her abilities who are currently at the center and applicants who wish to be admitted
  • Working directly with the educational director and/or other Behavior Analysts to determine needed curriculum and implementation of that curriculum
  • Overseeing Behavior Technicians and provide training, as well as conduct evaluations of therapists, including video tape reviews
  • Giving direction to Behavior Technicians to ensure that the needs of the student are being addressed appropriately
  • Conducting functional behavior assessments and write behavior plans as needed
  • Participating in team meetings with parents and/or school divisions
  • Conducting observations and reports with recommendations for clients
  • Supervising the development of IEP goals and progress reports. Ensure that all goals are being targeted
  • Supervising program development in conjunction with the Clinical Director
  • Other responsibilities may include teacher trainings, presentations, and research
  • Any other duties requested by the Chief Operations Officer and/or the Clinical Director
