About The Position

Wellan Montessori School is seeking an experienced educator to lead a Beginner classroom (ages 15 months - 3 years) to start immediately. The Beginner Lead Teacher oversees all aspects of classroom operation including planning and implementing curriculum, communicating regularly with families, and working with Beginner Assistant Teachers to ensure classroom standards are met consistently. The Beginner Lead Teacher must excel at preparing the environment, taking overall responsibility for creating and maintaining an orderly, safe, and appropriately challenging learning environment for children in the class. Successful candidates will be patient, well organized, flexible, professional, and dependable; have strong classroom management skills; have strong verbal and written communication skills; be able to function in a cooperative teaching environment; and be able to collaborate with other educators in our community to create an environment where children learn, socialize, explore, and grow together. Experience working in a Montessori classroom is strongly preferred.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or beyond in related field
  • Montessori certification for ages 0-3 or in training / willingness to undertake training
  • EEC qualified or certified
  • Experience working in a Montessori classroom
  • Letter of interest/cover letter, resume, and at least two references are required to be considered for this position
