About The Position

The Before and After School Care Site Supervisor II is a year-round position responsible for the guidance and direction of the Before and After School Care (Y BASE) programming during the school year. This role transitions to camp programming during the summer months. The Site Supervisor II is assigned to sites that average 51 or more school-age students.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Have 240 hours of experience in an approved education setting.
Must have completed high school or equivalent.
Meet Child Care Licensing requirements including one of the following: 2 DCF-approved courses in early childhood education (credit or non-credit) or the school-age care equivalent; 48 credits from an institution of higher education with at least 3 credits in early childhood education or school-age growth and development; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education; a Child Development Association credential; or otherwise qualified as a School-Age Program Leader through The Wisconsin Registry.
Minimum of 240 hours of related experience working with early childhood or school-aged children in an approved setting.
Must be able and willing to obtain CPR, First Aid, AED, Abusive Head Trauma, Mandated Reporter, Wisconsin Child Care Registry certification, and additional non-credit coursework (as needed) within specified time frame.
Must have a sincere interest and ability to comprehend needs and develop positive outcomes in children from diverse populations.
Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others.
Ability to relate effectively with diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
Strong oral and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and actively participate in the daily activities with school age children before and after school.
Serve as a role model to staff and participants and act as the on-site supervisor of the Y BASE staff, 4K Wrap, and camp programs when applicable.
During the summer months will be assigned a leadership role for day camp.
Manage all materials and supplies needed for planned activities and maintain quality of supplies, materials, and equipment.
Develop positive relationships will the staff, families, and children while providing motivational support and guidance, including parent conferences and handling complaints in a courteous, patient manner using problem solving techniques.
Build a professional collaboration with local school district administration and staff to develop programming that aligns with district values, policies, and procedures.
Maintain participant records and other documentation in accordance with department requirements.
Ensure safety and cleanliness of learning spaces and classrooms.
Follow the YMCA of Greater Waukesha County’s emergency procedures to ensure the safety of all children, including but not limited to, communicating with supervisor regarding any emergency concerns or situations.
Uphold the core values of the YMCA when working with people within the YMCA facilities and community.
Follow all relevant regulations from the Department of Children and Families, Young Star, or other regulatory agencies.
Attend all staff meetings and trainings as required.
Other duties as necessary and as assigned by supervisor.
