About The Position

The perfect part-time job? Do you like to play games, swim, lead activities, and help kids grow and have fun? We're looking for you! Schedule: Positions available ranging up to 20 hours/week, with potential for more. Varies and may include: weekdays 6:30am-9am and/or 2:30pm – 6:30pm. Wednesday’s schedule is 12:30 – 6:30pm Staff meeting monthly outside of regular hours (typically before afternoon shift begins) Some of our great benefits include: Employee discounts for programs & services Professional development assistance Free club membership Responsibilities: Lead and assist daily activities for youth, including indoor and outdoor games, arts & crafts, and participate in free swim time. Drive school-age children in a 15-passenger van up to 10 hours a week from Samena to local schools and safely drive them back to our facility Aid in the development and implementation of new, fun and educational activities. Nurture, care for and build strong personal relationships with each child. Maintain a positive, safe and healthy environment. Assist with special programs and Club events, such as Non-School Day Camp. Handle minor youth conflicts using appropriate behavior management and classroom discipline techniques. Help maintain neat and clean environment according to Samena and state licensing standards. Maintain good standing in MERIT by following all state licensing requirements. Attend monthly staff meeting. QualificationsQualifications 21 years old or older High school diploma or GED Experience in childcare Valid Washington State Driver's License 5-year clean driving record Ability to pass/proof of clearing Portable Background Check CPR/First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogens certification Proof of negative TB test Proof of MMR vaccine or proof of immunity Washington State Food Handler’s Permit 30 Hours STARS training certification within 90 days of start date 10 hours STARS professional development certification, annually Training is either provided and/or paid for by Samena. Skills Self-motivated with a professional demeanor and strong work ethic Collaborative team player with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Able to work with a diverse population and maintain confidentiality Comfortable mediating conflicts between students positively and professionally Strong communication skills and ability to communicate effectively through written and in-person exchanges Able to pivot and solve problems using critical thinking and creativity About us Samena Swim & Recreation Club is a family-friendly nonprofit membership organization that has been serving East Bellevue for more than 60 years. We provide high-quality programs and services to our members and guests year-round. Our facility includes a fitness room, playground, classrooms, tennis courts, a seasonal wading pool, a year-round 25-yard, 6 lane outdoor pool and a year-round 25-meter, 6 lane indoor pool. Requirements

  • 21 years old or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience in childcare
  • Valid Washington State Driver's License
  • 5-year clean driving record
  • Ability to pass/proof of clearing Portable Background Check
