At KIPP St. Louis, we believe every part of a child’s day should spark joy, curiosity, and growth—even after the final bell! Our Before & After Care Program keeps the learning (and fun!) going with a safe, enriching space where students grow academically, socially, and emotionally. We’re looking for an Activity Coordinator who brings energy, creativity, and heart to the table! In this role, you’ll dream up and lead engaging activities that match student interests and reflect KIPP values—think STEM adventures, arts and crafts, dance breaks, social-emotional moments, and academic boosts. You’ll report to the Site Coordinator and play a key role in making every student feel like they belong. Through culturally responsive programming and inclusive practices, you’ll help eliminate barriers and make after-school time another great part of the day. 10 Month; Grant Funded --->Part-time role (Up to 20 hours)

  • Student Engagement: Lead dynamic, small-group experiences that spark joy, curiosity, and creativity for all learners.
  • Facilitate engaging activities such as movement, crafts, games, and hands-on learning that promote fun and connection.
  • Build strong relationships with students and proactively support positive behavior through consistent, caring interactions.
  • Collaborative Planning: Partner with the Site Coordinator to design weekly activity plans tailored to student interests and developmental needs.
  • Prepare materials and set up activity spaces in advance to ensure smooth, high-quality experiences.
  • Flexibly adjust plans in the moment to respond to student energy, engagement, and feedback.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth program delivery, including attendance tracking, student transitions, and facility management.
  • Support seamless transitions, snack and meal routines, and uphold daily safety procedures.
  • Track student participation and contribute to shared program goals and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a welcoming, inclusive environment where every student feels seen, valued, and excited to participate.
  • Family & Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with families, ensuring they feel informed, engaged, and supported in their child’s extended learning experience.
  • Develop initiatives to increase student participation, particularly among families facing economic or systemic barriers.
  • Additional duties within reason may be assigned; such duties must be considered as beneficial and impactful to the mission of the organization.
  • Relevant experience in youth development, education, or program coordination strongly preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in education, youth programming, or community engagement.
  • Proven track record of managing teams, designing youth programs, and driving student success.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations and implementing equity-focused practices.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities.
  • Ability to coach and develop staff in an identity-affirming, student-centered environment.
