About The Position

The Bed Control Coordinator manages the flow of admitted patients.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficient with Bed Board and Sunrise programs.
  • Maintains heart saver certification.
  • Must have one year of experience with the admissions process in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Works collaboratively with administrative supervisors, charge nurses, E.D. Navigator and transportation dispatcher to ensure appropriate and timely patient placement.
  • Will perform continuous surveillance of the patient care units identifying discharges, bed assignments and transfers.
  • Maintains open communication with all units to ensure efficient and appropriate patient throughput.
  • Monitors and maintains Bed Board at all times.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
