About The Position

The Beauty Manager at JCPenney is responsible for leading a team to excel, understanding the business inside and out, and interacting with clients to ensure their satisfaction. This role involves understanding the levers and indicators that affect the Beauty business and coaching the team to deliver an amazing shopping experience for clients. JCPenney is a shopping destination for diverse, working American families, offering a broad portfolio of fashion, apparel, home, beauty, and jewelry, along with personal services. The company serves customers through jcp.com and over 650 stores in the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

Requirements

  • Prior experience leading people, including providing frequent coaching/feedback, differentiating performance, empowering teams, setting expectations, motivating, and recognizing team members.
  • Ability to analyze business performance, understand numbers, and take action based on data.
  • Ability to actively search for and approach talent for market opportunities.
  • Keen interest in keeping the store clean and visually stimulating, ensuring merchandise is presented to visual standards.
  • Love interacting with new people and greeting returning clients.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading your team – providing frequent coaching/feedback, differentiating performance, empowering the team, setting expectations, motivating, and recognizing individual contributions.
  • Responsible for analyzing business performance – reviewing reports and information to understand business performance and taking action to make a difference.
  • Supports Talent Management process – actively searching for and approaching talent for market opportunities.
  • Responsible for making visual merchandise decisions – ensuring the store is clean and visually stimulating, and merchandise is presented to visual standards.
  • Responsible for assisting clients – interacting with new people and greeting returning clients to ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Supports the execution of the monthly animation – planning for upcoming design and new merchandise sets, and providing direction to supporting teams for an engaging shopping experience.
