Our Friendship Richfield Assisted Livings in Salem, VA are looking for a Beautician. The Beautician is responsible for providing hair care services to facility residents 2 days a week. Equipment is provided. The Beautician is responsible for supplying all materials necessary to perform services, including but not limited to shampoo, hair spray, permanent solutions, hair coloring products, brushes, and combs. The Beautician will receive a high percentage of the revenue from services rendered.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid Cosmetology License in the state of Virginia
• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day.
• The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a long-term care/rehabilitation facility preferred

Responsibilities

• Discuss hair services and treatments with clients
• Wash, set, style and cut hair
• Provide hair coloring services
• Performs manicures as requested by residents
• Assists residents with getting to and from beauty chair
• Report any problems found while caring for resident to the appropriate nursing staff
• Schedule appointments and calls resident or resident’s nursing staff to remind them of their appointment
• Maintain accurate records of all resident transactions (charges) and submit to accounting in a timely manner
• Clean and sanitize all equipment between clients
• Maintain a safe environment for all clients at all times
