About The Position

The position serves as the on-site management and leader of a Bulk Distribution Center (BDC). The individual is responsible for the execution of all functions at the facility, including daily, weekly, and annual operational planning and execution to meet distribution center, XDT, and store service requirements. This role involves recruiting, training, and managing a workforce of up to 250 employees across multiple shifts, as well as assisting associates with HR-related issues such as attendance, pay, benefits, job changes, terminations, I-9 verification, unemployment claims, and workplace accommodations. The manager will also develop and implement effective training programs in conjunction with HR, evaluate staffing needs, and communicate effectively with Operations Managers and Supervisors regarding business objectives and safety issues. Additionally, the role requires managing relationships with distribution centers, local communities, suppliers, and corporate constituents, while ensuring adherence to corporate policies and fostering a positive work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Operations or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3-5 years’ leadership experience with direct reports, including experience leading managers.
  • 8-10 years’ operations experience in a large volume center environment.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in creating and managing a budget.
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Access.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and measure effectiveness of associate training programs.
  • Evaluate staffing needs to meet daily demand and adjust personnel as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with Operations Managers and Supervisors regarding business objectives and safety issues.
  • Set Operations Managers and Supervisors up for success to achieve key performance indicators.
  • Manage relationships with distribution centers, local community, suppliers, and corporate constituents.
  • Develop and nurture a positive work environment for all Team Members.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures.
  • Pursue professional growth and provide developmental opportunities for others.
  • Build collaborative, cross-functional relationships.
  • Delegate tasks and decisions, fostering open dialog amongst team members.
  • Work closely with employees to set goals and provide feedback to drive performance improvement.
  • Manage designated work stream to meet customer and business needs.
  • Align team efforts by building accountability and measuring progress.
  • Identify and address improvement opportunities and lead facility through change.
  • Ensure all safety policies and procedures are implemented and observed.
  • Analyze current procedures and initiate new ideas to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Identify causes of product loss and take corrective action as needed.
